Freya Vie

Hello, I’m Freya Vie¹.

I am a mother of two preschoolers and work office hours in the government sector.

I’ve been writing since 2006 to process and reflect on my daily life—what I did, observed, overheard, or learned. Writing is crucial to me—it keeps me grounded, makes me happy, and allows me to connect with others personally.

Other than writing, I love to read and write book reviews. I’m also a photography hobbyist, enjoying both film and digital. When I’m in the mood, I strum my ukulele or dabble in art—pen and wash. When I have significantly more time, I’ll write and send out some postcards².

I also exchange literary emails with some international friends on a no-pressure basis. We would discuss about books, share reviews, favorite quotes, and thoughts on everything reading-related. I enjoy a variety of genres, including slice of life, small-town stories, mystery thrillers, Japanese literature, contemporary fiction, a bit of historical fiction and self-help. If this sounds like something you might enjoy, I’d love to connect.

I love a hot cup of coffee at 5 AM when the world is still quiet. It’s my time to reflect and recalibrate. My other simple pleasures include listening to hotel lobby music, making French toast, sweater weather and slow Sundays.

I have oceans to share if you stick around. Stay safe and thank you for your time here.
