The Quest to Safety
I dreamt that I was at a beach filled with partygoers. As I walked along the beach, I bumped into some friends. There was A, F and FW, and some others. We ended up in F’s place to continue with an afterparty. F had to go out to meet some other people for a while. A few minutes later, outside this huge glass window, we saw a terrible accident. It involved a few vehicles and few pedestrians were involved. Police cars and ambulances arrived shortly. Next thing I knew, F reached home and much later, some policemen arrived to arrest him as somehow he was involved in the cause of the accident.
We wanted to leave, but for some reason, we cannot go back to where we live. We had to find a new place. So trouble wouldn’t find us. I am unsure if trouble meant the bad people or the police.
When we were outside, we went to another place. A house of some sort. We thought we could take shelter there but we were greeted by angry people and soon enough, we were escorted out by scary mafia-like guys. One of them had a long and sharp katana pressed against my neck. I remember starting to worry that this would be the death of me. That I would be beheaded and nobody could help to stop prevent it from happening. But, we were let go.
Along the way to finding a new place, we met someone we know, who is renting an apartment. A discreet apartment. The building was similar to those along the streets of Hong Kong. When we viewed the place, it looked good and safe, it got all we needed, food and shelter. But, at a cost. This apartment had rules that we had to strictly follow. We need to be home by 9 PM, and we need to help with the house chores and cooking (because we had to cook for everyone in the apartment). The rules are defined. Everything needed to be placed in a certain order and we needed to be quiet, no rowdiness allowed. That someone we know, the guy who rented the apartment much earlier before us, guided us through it all so that we did not break any rules – so that we can stay here where trouble cannot find us and we’ll be safe.
After we settled down, we all went out to take a breather and check out the surroundings outside the apartment. We approached a group that was hanging out nearby and one of them was R. We told him what happened regarding the accident. It was almost 9 PM and we decided to head back. Outside the entrance of the apartment, I was sorting out some stuff, I had some difficulties since I’m new to the place, so it took me some time. I rushed in as soon as I was done. I almost didn’t make it but phew – thankfully I did.
